Tabloid journalist Michael Wolff is currently enjoying his fifteen minutes of fame, as his anti-Trump book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House has succeeded in capturing Americans’ imaginations and has shot up to the top of the best-seller list. The notoriety of this poorly sourced book has clearly gone to Wolff’s head. Wolff has in the past few days made the rounds of liberal-biased media outlets and has gone so far as to predict that his trashy tell-all will cause the downfall of the Trump presidency.

On BBC Radio, host Nick Robinson said to the reporter, “Now, all of this is fascinating, it’s an insight, it’s gossip some of it, it may not be enough to stop him from being president. Whereas, the allegations about Russia may be. Do you believe that anything in the book will actually change the chances of the allegations of collusion with Russia being found to be true and therefore leading to the impeachment of the President?”

Wolff responded, boasting, “You know, I think one of the interesting effects of the book so far is a very clear emperor-has-no-clothes effect. That, the story that I have told seems to present this presidency in such a way that it says he can’t do his job. The emperor has no clothes. Suddenly everywhere people are going: ‘Oh my God, it’s true, he has no clothes.’ That’s the background to the perception and the understanding that will finally end this – that will end this presidency.”

Wolff even found a clever, ridiculous way to explain away the fact that the American economy under Trump is booming. He claimed about Trump, “He hardly has a staff anymore, since most people have left the White House. And it may be that he will do nothing. The economy is booming possibly because you’ll have someone who’s not capable of actually implementing any policies or regulation.”

Wolff’s lies were poorly received. Stated one commenter in response, “Dear Michael Wolff; I wish you only ill. Yours truly, Real America.” Added another, “They had to move up the release of his “book” several weeks, due to the fact that they have very little time before President Trump’s economic policies really kick in, and then no one will be listening to the lying smears and namecalling, which is all the Democrats have anymore.” Do you think this narcissistic liberal journalist is delusional?
